Zoom will acquire Five9. This transaction will be recorded as Zoom's first billion-dollar acquisition.
Preparing for the aftermath of the coronavirus outbreak, Zoom announced on Sunday that it agreed to buy Five9 for $14.7 billion. The deal was recorded as the second largest technology deal in the US this year. Zoom CEO Eric Yuan said: "We are constantly looking for ways to improve our platform. By acquiring Five9, we will deliver greater satisfaction and greater value to our customers." Five9's market cap on Friday was $11.9 billion, or $177.60 per share. Zoom announced that Five9 shareholders will receive 0.5533 shares of Zoom Video Communications for each share.
