$ 1.9 trillion will be used to stabilize the US economy
The US Congress on Wednesday finally approved a $ 1.9 trillion plan to help President Joe Biden.
The aid package aims to stabilize the US economy affected by the coronavirus pandemic and to support the vaccination process.
"Help is here,"
Biden said on Twitter's social and microblogging network. The president said he would sign the measure on Friday.
Key elements of the aid package include a one-off financial support of $ 1,400 per person, which, together with a $ 600 benefit approved under a recent law to address the impact of the
COVID-19 pandemic, will increase the value of the aid to $ 2,000 per person.
The plan envisages extending the benefits for the unemployed until the end of August to help more than 11 million long-term unemployed. Parents of children under the age of 18 will receive regular allowances each month for one calendar year.
Schools, universities, small businesses and local authorities should also receive financial support and various grants. A skill of $ 70 billion should go to support coronavirus testing and vaccination.
