$1 Billion Dried Fruit Exported
$1 billion worth of dried fruit was exported. Demand for dried fruit increased during the epidemic period.

Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters' Association, said that exports of raisins, dried apricots and dried figs exceeded $ 1 billion in the 2019-2020 season.
In the statement made by the Aegean Exporters' Associations (EİB), it was reported that the demand for raisins, apricots and figs increased during the epidemic period.
In the statement, Birol Celep, President of the Aegean Dried Fruits and Products Exporters Association, stated that they sent grapes, figs and apricots to 120 different countries. In addition, Celep stated that 248 thousand 309 tons of
export in exchange of 509 million 940 thousand dollars of foreign currency income was obtained in seedless raisins.
Turkey's apricot season ending at the end of July. Celep stated that while exporting 96 thousand 777 tons of products, it earned 253 million 392 thousand dollars in foreign currency, '' The export of dried figs, whose season ended on September 30, reached 241 million 865 thousand dollars for 69 thousand 791 tons. This season, in Turkey's exports, which contributes to our passing plus dried fruit exports in the process of contraction up to 11%, i would like to thank all our exporters.”
According to Aegean Exporters Union, 80 percent of Turkey's 509 million 940 thousand dollars raisin exports is to European Union countries. England, on the other hand, took the first place with a demand of 154 million 740 thousand dollars.
While dried apricots from Turkey US was in the first place with 35.5 million dollars. While Germany demanded 24 million dollars worth of Turkish apricots; France, on the other hand, demanded 22.5 million dollars worth of Turkish apricots.
70 thousand tons of export targeted at the beginning of the season was achieved in the export of dried figs. On the other hand, Germany reached the top with a product demand worth of 34 million 703 thousand dollars.
