Thus, the net minimum wage has increased by 500 TL compared to the previous year, and has increased by 21.56 percent.” According to the decision taken, the net minimum wage for married and unemployed employees was determined as 2,879.57 TL. 2,919.81 Turkish lira for married, unemployed spouse and one child; 2,960.06 Turkish lira for married, unemployed spouse and two children; and 3.013.72 Turkish lira for the married, unemployed and three-child employee. As the negotiations progressed, the unions started to express their demands more clearly and expressed that the minimum wage should make the people happy. Expressing the first call in this direction, DİSK stated that the minimum wage for 2021 should be 3,800 TL. Hak-İş and Türk-İş emphasized that the minimum wage should not be less than 3 thousand liras. Hak-İş President Mahmut Arslan said, "The government and employers should come to the table with an offer of at least 3 thousand TL." Türk-İş Chairman Ergün Atalay made the following statement before the minimum wage meeting: “An offer below 3 thousand lira is not an offer that will make people happy, it will not make the employees happy. An offer of over 3 thousand lira should be brought to the Minimum Wage Determination Commission.”   TURKSTAT had calculated the minimum wage as 2.792 Lira Turkish Statistical Institute (TURKSTAT), reported its calculations on the Minimum Wage Fixing Commission's third meeting. According to the calculations of TURKSTAT, the minimum wage for heavy business is 2.792.10 TL; 2.507.70 lira for the middle business; It should have been 2,339.10 lira for light business. Türk-İş reacted to this calculation and stated that the minimum subsistence amount of a single worker did not reflect the realities of the country.
