23 chain markets will defend themselves

23 chain markets, which were investigated on the grounds that they acted jointly while determining the prices, will defend themselves.

The stage of oral defense has come in the investigation carried out to determine whether the chain markets engaged in the retail food trade, while determining the retail prices of water, fresh fruits, and vegetables, violated the 4th and 6th articles of Law No. 4054. The aforementioned oral defense meeting will be held remotely on the web on March 22, 2022, at 10:30.

Complainants and third parties who want to attend the meeting to take the floor (participation will be online) must submit a petition containing the information and documents revealing their interests regarding the meeting subject, pursuant to the "Communiqué on Oral Defense Meetings Held Before the Competition Board", until the end of working hours on March 15, 2022. They have to apply to the Competition Authority.

Those who want to attend the oral defense meeting as listeners will be able to follow the meeting online. For this purpose, in accordance with the directions on the Competition Authority website, the participation form must be filled in at least half an hour before the meeting time.
