50 Billion cubic meters of gas Input to Turkey occurred in 2020. The total amount entering the country's natural gas system in 2020 has increased by 6.75 percent compared to last year.
The total amount of natural gas entered the system, compared to the previous year, showed a 6.75 percent increase in 2020 and was recorded as 50 billion cubic meters.
According to data released by
BOTAS, in 2019, the amount of natural gas into was recorded as 46 billion 835 million 429 thousand cubic meters, while consumption was calculated as the total amount of 45 billion 286 million cubic meters.
Since last year, the number of natural gas subscribers has increased to approximately 17 million 500 thousand.
With the works carried out, it is aimed to increase the number of settlements where natural gas supply is provided to at least 661. Making a statement on the subject, BOTAS General Manager Burhan Özcan stated that since the end of last year, natural gas has been delivered to 581 districts in total.
Within the scope of supply security in
natural gas, the total storage capacity of Lake Tuz and Northern Marmara Natural Gas Storage facilities reached 3.84 billion cubic meters, while the daily withdrawal capacity was 45 million cubic meters.
LNG's share in Turkey's natural gas imports had increased to 28 percent in 2019.
