674.5 Billion Lira Payments Have Been Made to Retirees Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk, Minister of Family, Labor and Social Services, reported that 674.5 billion lira payments have been made to retirees in total as monthly pension in the last 2 years. Reminding that they made a monthly payment of 30.5 billion lira to 13.1 million retirees, including 8.2 million workers, 2.6 million Bağ-Kur and 2.3 million retired civil servants in August 2020, Minister Selçuk used the following statements: “In the last 2 years, we paid a total of 674.5 billion TL to retirees.” In addition, underlining that the good news given by President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to retirees within the scope of the "Economic Stability Shield" was enacted and the minimum pension was raised to 1500 lira, Minister Selcuk also reminded that 1000 lira holiday bonus was paid to retirees before Ramadan and Eid al-Adha. Minister Zehra Zümrüt Selçuk stated that retirees received their first holiday bonus during the Ramadan Feast of 2018 and emphasized that the amount of bonuses paid in the intervening 6 religious holidays increased to 64.2 billion lira. Stating that they are working to increase the welfare of retirees, Minister Selçuk said: “We will continue to stand by retirees, who contribute to the development of our country by working, shed their sweat, and have their labor and service in every inch of our country.”
