Trump and Pelosi Argue About Incentives!
Trump and Pelosi argue about incentives! US President Donald Trump and Speaker of the House of Representatives Nancy Pelosi accused each other of failing to make progress on incentives that would support the US economy affected by the coronavirus outbreak. A senior official from the White House noted that his expectation is to continue the talks. An official from the Fed stated that financial assistance is seriously needed.
In his speech to Fox News after a week of volatile signals regarding the amount and scope of incentives, US President Trump stated that the Republicans are "in a difficult situation" about
Pelosi. Spokesperson of the House of Representatives Pelosi pointed out that the administration's proposal was quite insufficient.
Pelosi, stated in her letter to the Democratic legislators , ”It is difficult to understand who has shaped their approach, which has been a bad and serious failure so far. Until these serious issues are resolved, we will remain in a deadlock.”
White House economic adviser Larry Kudlow has previously stated that he expects US Treasury Secretary Steven Mnuchin and
Pelosi to have more meetings this week.
Kudlow told CNN television that Mnuchin could raise the proposal made by the administration.
Commenting on the issue, Kudlow said, “Although the incentive is not vital to the economic recovery of the US, I do not think it is completely shelved.”
