A Permit Will Be Required For Eel Fishing

A permit will be required for eel fishing. Fishing vessels that have a permit will be able to hunt eel. The Communiqué of the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry on the Use of the Eel (Anguilla Anguilla) Export Quota and the Regulation of the CITES Certificate was published in the Official Gazette. According to the published communique, the annual export quota amount of eels will be determined by the commission formed by the General Directorate, which is the Management Authority of TUBITAK and CITES. Eel fishing can be done by fishing vessels that have a "license" from the provincial or district directorates of the Ministry. Stocked eels cannot be used, sold, transported or exported without obtaining permission from the aforementioned institutions. Those who will export eel can apply to the Ministry via the website https://citesbasvuru.tarimorman.gov.tr/  in order to request a CITES certificate.
