A Raise To Bread In Istanbul
A Raise to bread in Istanbul. The price of 200 grams of bread which was 1.25 TL increased to 1.50 TL.
The Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) commission accepted the decision to raise 20 percent for 200 grams of bread.
The 2020 Maximum Bread Price Tariff in Istanbul is 1.50 TL for 200 grams of bread and 1.80 TL for 240 grams of bread, with the decision of the Istanbul Chamber of Commerce on September 10, 2020.
Stating that there has been no increase in bread since May 2019, Istanbul Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen Faik Yılmaz used the following statements:
“All inputs such as flour, natural gas, water and electricity were raised. Our costs have increased significantly. With the decision of a joint commission consisting of the Governorship, the Municipality, the Provincial Directorate of Commerce, the Chamber of Tradesmen and Craftsmen, the Chamber of Commerce and the Bakers Federation and the Provincial Directorate of Agriculture, a 20 percent increase in bread was decided. The decision to increase the price of 200 grams of bread, which is 1.25 TL in Istanbul, by 20 percent to 1.50 TL was accepted by the commission of Istanbul Chamber of Commerce (ITO) as of September 2020. Once the tariffs are approved, the decision will take effect.”
With the new decision, the kilogram price of bread in Istanbul increased from 6.25 TL to 7.50 TL. While 200 grams of bread increased from 1.25 TL to 1.50 TL, the price of 240 grams
bread increased from 1.50 TL to 1.75 TL.
In addition, it was reported that the new prices started to be applied in different districts of Istanbul.
