Additional Customs Duty Comes to Over 400 Products!

Up to 20 percent additional customs tax will be imposed at the rates varying until the end of September, effective for over 400 products in imports. Import Regime Decree President Annex Decision, which entered into force in the Official Gazette, will be implemented in a quality measures for the economy of Turkey. The new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, which has spread its impact all over the world, affected the economies of the country as badly as it did to health. The scope of the measures taken to adverse, protection against rising pressure from imports of Turkey's domestic industry for the purpose; Considering the demands coming from industrial sector organizations and companies, it was decided to apply additional customs tax to some products. In this context, the tax to be collected at different rates temporarily according to the product until September 30; textile, casting and welding machines, machine tools, presses, agriculture and harvesting machines, pumps, ship cranes, trailers, cord fabric, citric acid, glasses, firebricks, seat belts, adhesives, thermostats, weighing tools and devices, wigs, snow plowers, ovens, hoods, iron and steel items, cables, precious ornaments and various products. In these products, additional customs tax will be applied up to 20 percent until September 30, and lower rates up to 10 points after September 30. In addition to these, customs tax was determined as 10 percent for plastic plates to be imported for use in plastic card and smart card production. Again, these decisions will remain valid until September 30. In addition, with the amendment made in an import regime decision, it was decided to apply the customs tax rate to 10 percent on reflective films to be imported provided that they are used in solar panels. It was reported that the Ministry of Commerce was the competent authority to issue communiqués regarding the issues in question, to examine and conclude special and mandatory situations.
