Airline Usage Blowout: 41 Million Passengers in 4 Months

The General Directorate of State Airports Authority, affiliated to the Ministry of Transport and Infrastructure, published passenger and cargo statistics according to January-April data. In the last 4 months, the number of people who preferred the airline was recorded as 11 million 616 thousand 346. In the January-April period, 41 million 250 thousand 184 passengers preferred the airline.

The number of passengers who preferred the airline in the January-April period exceeded 41 million. It was stated that the number of aircraft landing and taking off at environmentally and passenger-friendly airports in April was 61 thousand 230 on domestic flights and 47 thousand 304 on international flights, while a total of 139 thousand 445 aircraft traffic was realized in April with overpasses. Compared to the same period of the previous year, an increase of 26.2 percent in domestic air traffic, 89.5 percent in international air traffic and 54 percent in total air traffic were recorded. Passenger traffic, which greatly decreased throughout the world and in the country during the pandemic period, came very close to its previous level in April compared to the same period of 2019. In April, total passenger traffic realizations reached 73 percent of passenger traffic in 2019. Domestic passenger traffic was 5 million 389 thousand 967 and international passenger traffic was 6 million 196 thousand 846 at active airports across Turkey. Thus, a total of 11 million 616 thousand 346 passengers were served with direct transit passengers in the month in question.
