Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant Payment Announcement

The Akkuyu Nuclear Power Plant, which is under construction, announced that it has decided to make July salary payments to T2IC's employees from its own resources and that the salaries of employees receiving salaries in Turkish lira will be increased by 35 percent.

"Due to T2IC's refusal to terminate the contract with the agreement of the parties and its failure to fulfill its obligations in financial matters, including the payment of employees' salaries, Akkuyu Nükleer has decided to make July salary payments to T2IC's employees from its own resources. The salaries of employees who receive salaries in Turkish lira will be increased by 35 percent." In the statement, it was stated that the workers, engineers and managers previously employed at T2IC were offered to transfer to TSM, and the following statements were made: "During the transfer, all rights of the employees under the labor legislation of the Republic of Turkey will be preserved and all entitlements including severance pay, unused vacation pay and notice pay will be paid depending on the length of employment at the previous workplace. These measures have been taken to ensure the continuity and quality of work at the construction site, adherence to the construction schedule of Akkuyu NPP, protection of the rights of workers in terms of working conditions and timely payment of wages to employees." In addition, Alexey Likhachev, Director General of the Russian State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM), emphasized that more than 80 percent of the workers at the Akkuyu NPP site are Turkish citizens.
