Allegation of Confidential Cooperation Against Google and Facebook
An allegation of confidential cooperation was filed against Google and
Facebook. It has been alleged that two American tech giants direct advertisements by other companies and there is a collusion between them.
It was claimed that Google and Facebook, one of the largest technology companies in the world, directed the data of the advertisers and acted together.
Attorneys of 10 states in the USA sued the internet company
Google for its "anti-competitive practices" in the advertisement industry.
Prosecutors claimed that Google is using its "monopolistic power" to control prices in online ads, with the leadership of Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton, the prosecutors in Arkansas, Indiana, Idaho, Kentucky, Mississippi, Missouri, South Dakota, North Dakota and Utah, made a public case.
The federal government and states across the country have filed lawsuits against both Facebook and Google in recent weeks, claiming the two companies abused their positions in social media and internet search.
The lawsuits point to increased regulatory pressure in the US technology industry. "The Facebook case is really important. If the government wins this case, it will be a milestone across the industry," said Sam Weinstein, a lecturer at the Cardozo School of Law at Yeshiva University.
