AMC is considering launching its own cryptocurrency. AMC CEO Adam Aron gave signals on the subject.
US-based multinational entertainment company
AMC is considering establishing its own cryptocurrency. In an interview with CNBC on October 20, AMC CEO Adam Aron focused on the firm's goals regarding cryptocurrency. Although the CEO did not make definitive judgments, he made some statements.
"We've made a lot of strides with cryptocurrencies in the last few months."
AMC CEO said:
“There are many reasons why AMC invested in cryptocurrencies besides launching a cryptocurrency.”
As it will be remembered, last August, the company stated that it plans to develop an infrastructure that will accept Bitcoin payments for movie tickets by the end of this year.
A development the following month was AMC's expansion of cryptocurrency payments to include Ethereum, Litecoin, and Bitcoin Cash. According to Aron's statements, customers are very keen on cryptocurrencies as a payment method at AMC.
In addition, it is thought that issuing tokens as a publicly traded company in the USA will face regulatory obstacles.
