AppStore Fees Will Be Halved
AppStore fees will be halved. Apple reported that it will cut the fees received in the AppStore by half.
According to Apple's statement, the 30 percent fee received from newly operating developers who earn up to $ 1 million annually from their apps through the Apple Store will drop to 15 percent.
The decision is considered one of the biggest changes in the store's revenue system since 2008, when Apple launched the application.
Apple announced that this decision is part of the "App Store Small Business Program" and that the application will be launched on January 1. In addition, it was said that the new system will apply to the "vast majority" of developers who charge for app and in-app purchases on
Apple devices. On the other hand, this system will not be applicable to large applications such as Netflix and Spotify.
The company's revenue from app developers was approximately $ 54 billion in fiscal 2020. AppStore alone is projected to generate nearly one-third ($ 18.7 billion) of total service revenue in 2021.
According to the data, the AppStore currently has 1.8 million apps and more than 28 million registered developers.
