Electricity Hike As of September 1, 2022
The Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA) noted that the electricity tariff for residences, which will be valid as of September, has been increased by 20 percent.
In the statement made by the Energy Market Regulatory Authority (EMRA), it was noted that the Russia-Ukraine war, which started at a time when the effects of the pandemic continued to affect global economies, brought heavy consequences for all world energy markets, especially European countries.
While it was noted that raw material increases were at extraordinary levels, the following statements were used in the statement:
"This situation has also negatively affected energy production costs in our country. Especially in recent months, as the increases in energy raw material prices in global markets have exceeded certain levels, final electricity tariffs have been increased by 20 percent for residential and agricultural activities subscriber groups, 30 percent for the public and private services sector and other subscribers group, and 50 percent for the industrial subscriber group. With this increase, the amount to be paid for a residential subscriber with 100 kilowatt hours of electricity consumption is 173.46 liras."
The new tariffs will be reflected in invoices as of September 1.
