Asian Stock Markets Fell On Monday
Asian stock markets fell on Monday. They did not copy the growth of Wall Street, which again set historical records last week.
Major indices in the US have been pulled up by optimism that the global economy will overcome the effects of the crisis thanks to progress in the development of a
coronavirus vaccine.
Although regional indices entered a new week with growth, they erased initial gains.
Tokyo's main Nikkei 225 index fell 0.8% to 26,433.62 points, South Korean Kospi down 0.9% to 2,608.79 points, Australia's SAP / ASX 200 down 1.3% to 6,571.80 points, Hong Kong Hang Seng by 1.5% to 26,501.58 points and the
Shanghai compound index by 0.1% to 3,404.90 points.
The results of the survey on activity in the Chinese manufacturing industry provided encouragement for the region. The industry's Purchasing Managers' Index rose this month, signaling that the country from which the pandemic began to spread about a year ago is continuing its economic recovery.
