Austria Will Help Companies Affected By The Lockdown
Austria will help companies affected by the lockdown with two billion euros.
According to Austrian Finance Minister Gernot Blümel, the cost of compensation for the loss of revenue for companies that had to close during the lockdown will reach a total of up to two billion euros.
"These costs will range from 1.5 billion to 2 billion euros," Blümel told a news conference.
Companies will be entitled to up to 80 percent of last November's revenue. Restaurants, bars, hotels, as well as cinemas, theaters and fitness centers and other facilities must remain closed until the end of November.
The Austrian government has introduced a second blanket lockdown since Tuesday to stop the rapid spread of the new
coronavirus, which should be in effect by the end of November.
