Huawei Has Appealed Against The Ban On Its Devices On The Swedish 5G Network
Chinese telecommunications equipment manufacturer Huawei has appealed against a decision by the Swedish regulatory authority to exclude it from the position of supplier of equipment for the next generation 5G network.
The Swedish Post and Telecommunications Authority (PTS) announced this on Friday.
PTS added that it will now send an appeal to Huawei to the
Stockholm Administrative Court, which will handle the case.
Huawei has not yet responded to media requests for comments.
Last month,
Sweden became another country to ban devices from Chinese Huawei and ZTE in its 5G network. It has joined states that, for security reasons, have limited the role of Chinese suppliers in building the new 5G network.
By law, Chinese companies and citizens must legally assist their state in gathering intelligence.
PTS also stated in October that companies that will participate in the auction of the relevant bands in November must remove Huawei and ZTE devices from the already existing central functions by January 1, 2025.
The regulator defined central functions as devices used to build a radio access network, a transmission network, a core network and network service and maintenance.
