Automobile and light commercial vehicle sales in Turkey amounted to 737 thousand 350 units in 2021, a decrease of 4.6% compared to the previous year. The Automotive Distributors Association (ODD) has published the "Automobile and Light Commercial Vehicle Market Evaluation Report" for the years 2021 and December. According to the report, sales were 737,350 last year, a 4.6 percent decrease from 2020. While automobile sales fell 7.9 percent to 561,853, light commercial vehicle sales rose 7.9 percent to 175,497. Sedan cars were followed by SUVs with a share of 34.6 percent and hatchback cars with a share of 23.8 percent. When the light commercial vehicle market is analyzed by body type, the van body type was the most preferred body type with a share of 78.6 percent and 138,020 units, while the van body type took second place with a 10.3 percent share and 18,067 units. Pickup, on the other hand, finished third with a 6.3 percent market share and 11,063 sales.
