BDDK Changed its Asset Ratio
BDDK changed its Asset Ratio. AR was reduced from 95 percent to 90 percent for deposit banks and from 75 percent to 70 percent for participation banks.
According to the amendment made by the Banking Regulation and Supervision Agency (
BDDK), the Asset Ratio (AR) value was reduced from 95 percent to 90 percent for deposit banks and from 75 percent to 70 percent for participation banks as of October 1.
According to the Board's decision announcement on the BDDK's official website, the monthly average of the AR calculated by the banks at the end of each month was reduced from 95 percent to 90 percent for deposit banks. For participation banks, the AR value was reduced from 75 percent to 70 percent.
With the decision taken, as of the end of each month, the monthly average of AR for that month will not fall below 90 percent for deposit banks and 70 percent for participation banks. The new AR values determined will be valid as of October 1.
The excess amount to be taken as the basis will be calculated as the amount of change in the share that will bring the ratio to 90 percent and 70 percent, respectively, for deposit banks with an AR value of less than 90 percent and participation banks below 70 percent at the end of the relevant month.
Accordingly, the AR formula has also been changed. In the new case, the share of the formula will be calculated as "loans + (securities * 0.75) + (CBRT Swap * 0.5)" and its denominator as "TL Deposit + (FX Deposit * 1.75)".
