Biden Announces He Chose Yellen as Minister of the Treasury
Elected President Joe Biden announced that he chose Yellen as Minister of the Treasury. Biden announced the members of the economy team as well as Janet Yellen.

Janet Yellen as Minister of the Treasury.
Biden chose Neera Tanden as Head of the Management and Budget Office and Cecilia Rouse as Chairman of the Economic Advisors Council. Jared Bernstein and Heather Boushey, who served as Biden's long-term advisers, were also appointed as Council members.
Biden's selected economy team pointed out that the economic problems of black and low-income citizens will be prioritized.
Yellen and other elected names will be tasked with managing the economic recovery after the coronavirus outbreak. The first problem that Yellen faces will be to prevent the closure of public institutions and to reduce unemployment applications.
