US elected president Joe Biden’s choice for the Ministry of Treasury is Yellen. Biden plans to appoint former Federal Reserve Governor Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary.
Joe Biden, winner of the US Presidential elections held on November 3, started to list the names to be in his administration. Among them is former Federal Reserve Chairman (Fed) Janet Yellen.
According to the report compiled by Bloomberg, Biden plans to appoint former Fed Chairman Janet Yellen as Treasury Secretary.
One of the sources speaking to Bloomberg noted that there are other candidates for the post and that Yellen was filmed in some upcoming talk shows due to her candidacy.
Having promised to choose a different cabinet in his previous speeches, Biden may appoint the first black or female treasury minister in history.
In previous media reports, it was noted that Fed Vice President Roger Ferguson and Fed Member Lael Brainard were on Biden's candidate list for the same post.
