Cryptocurrency exchange, which was approved by France, started negotiations with Germany right after. Commenting on the current situation, Binance CEO Chanpeng Zhao said that they are in talks with the German banking and supervisory agency (BaFin) as part of its plan to expand its presence in Germany.
“Our team is definitely talking to regulators here and all over Europe,” said Zhao, who attended the Advanced Financial Technologies Conference in Hamburg and made statements here. "I haven't spoken to them directly, but based on the feedback from my team, I can say that things are going well."
Adding that many people, especially the compliance department, were recruited in Germany, Zhao stated that he could not give more details about the meeting due to confidentiality.
