The Supreme Court of London has ordered
Binance, one of the world's leading cryptocurrency exchanges, to identify hackers and freeze their accounts after one of its users said it was the victim of a $2.6 million attack.
In the decision, which was made public, a
Supreme Court Justice requested that artificial intelligence company Fect.ai take steps to detect the hackers of Binance and then track and seize the assets.
Although a small amount in the industry, the lawsuit is one of the first public cases involving Binance and will be a testament to the British court system's ability to combat fraud on cryptocurrency platforms.
In the statement made by Binance on the subject, the following statements were included:
“Binance routinely freezes accounts identified as having suspicious activity in line with our security policies and our commitment to ensure users are protected when using our platform.”
