At the closing, the banking index lost 0.20 percent and the holding index fell 0.12 percent. Among the industry indices, financial leasing was the most profitable with 2.13 percent, while sports were the most declining with 2.39 percent.
The increasing number of cases and casualties in the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic affected the world stock markets, especially the USA and Europe, and the indices fell. As new types of the virus emerged, companies slowing the supply of vaccines brought new restrictions in Europe. On the other hand, while the $ 1.9 trillion coronavirus support package is expected to pass by the Senate this month in the USA, the markets turned to a seller course when the Senate officials signaled for March. Domestic BIST 100 index, which broke a record last week, fell for the rest of the week and closed the day with a decrease yesterday.
Analysts stated that tomorrow the data agenda appears to be stable in the country, and that the data agenda will be monitored abroad, especially the US Federal Reserve (FED) interest rate decision. It was reported that the markets do not expect a change in interest rates from the US Federal Reserve (FED).
In technical terms, analysts stated that 1.525 points are in support and 1.555 and 1.570 levels are in the resistance position in the BIST 100 index.
