BIST 100 Index Closed at 5-Month High

BIST 100 index closed at 5-month high. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.95 percent and ended the day with 1,472.07 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 13.84 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 12.1 billion TL. At the close, the banking index gained 2.58 percent, while the holding index lost 0.04 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 2.61 percent, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 1.83 percent. Analysts stated that the search for direction continues after the mixed signals from the macroeconomic data and increasing uncertainties in the global stock markets, and stated that Borsa Istanbul is positively differentiated before the GDP data to be announced tomorrow. It was stated that the manufacturing industry Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) to be announced tomorrow, and the ADP private sector employment data in the USA are placed in the focus of investors. In technical terms, analysts stated that if the BIST 100 index is maintained above the level of 1.470, the level of 1.490 will stand out as resistance, while the level of 1.440 will stand out as support in downward movements.
