BIST 100 index started the day with an increase on August 31. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.61 percent and started the day with 1,467.18 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 8.95 points and 0.61 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 1,467.18 points. At the opening, the banking index increased by 0.77 percent and the holding index increased by 0.61 percent. Among the sector indices, metal gained the most with 0.86 percent, and the only decline was recorded on sports with 0.21 percent. While the BIST 100 index closed with 1,458.23 points, gaining value by 0.67 percent on Friday, the weekly gain of the index was at the level of 0.94 percent due to the remarkable money inflow. Analysts stated that the search for direction came to the fore with the mixed signals from macroeconomic data and the developments related to the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic in the global markets, and stated that the effect of the increasing oil prices will be monitored in the domestic markets, which were closed yesterday due to the August 30 Victory Day. It was stated that today, foreign trade statistics in the country, inflation in the Eurozone and consumer confidence index in the USA will be closely monitored abroad. In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.470 and 1.490 are in a position of resistance and the level of 1.440 stands out as support for the BIST 100 index.
