BIST 100 Index Closed the Day With a Decline
BIST 100 index closed the day with a decline. BIST 100 index lost 0.59 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day with 1.542.45 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 9.13 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 28.8 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index lost 2.26 percent, while the holding index gained 0.12 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism gained the most with 4.78 percent, while banking was the most declining.
Analysts reported that new measures came to the fore as a result of the increase in the number of new types of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in Asian countries, especially in China, and accordingly, global markets acted with sellers. In addition, analysts also reminded that the international credit rating agency Standard & Poor's assessment of Turkey, which is expected to be announced today, is the focus of the markets.
The analysts stated that the inflation report to be announced by the CBRT in the coming week, the summary of the Monetary Policy Committee meeting, the real sector confidence index, the manufacturing industry capacity utilization rate, and the economic confidence index will be monitored, also emphasized that share and sector-based movements could come to the fore.
It was reminded that a dense data calendar will be monitored abroad, including the US Federal Reserve interest rate decision, growth in the USA, and the speech of European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde next week.
On the technical side, analysts stated that 1.570 and 1.590 levels are in resistance, 1.525 and 1.510 levels are in support position for the
BIST 100 index.
