BIST 100 Index Closed The Day With A Decline
BIST 100 index closed the day with a decline. In Borsa Istanbul, the BIST 100 index lost 0.67 percent and finished the day with 1.449.82 points.
At the end of the day, the
BIST 100 index decreased by 9.75 points compared to its previous closing, and the total transaction volume was recorded as 17.7 billion liras.
At the closing, while the banking index gained 1.65 percent value, the holding index lost 0.64 percent. Among the industry indices, construction was the most profitable with 4.21 percent, while the highest decline was recorded on the metal main industry with 3.51 percent.
Analysts noted that the markets followed a mixed course after the Federal Open Market Committee (FOMC) meeting on April 27-28 revealed that some members were ready to begin discussing the reduction in asset purchases.
Emphasizing that uncertainties regarding economic activity in the USA continue and this situation increases the need for market guidance by the
FED, analysts stated that the expectations that the debates on the reduction of the bank's asset purchases could start in the autumn were brought forward.
The manufacturing industry and service sector Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) will be announced worldwide tomorrow with the statements of the European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde and the US Federal Reserve (Fed) officials. It was stated that an intense data agenda, especially second hand housing sales in the USA, will be followed.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,470 is in the resistance position in the BIST 100 index, while the 1,440 and 1,390 levels are in the support position.
