BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with a Decline
BIST 100 index closed the day with a decline. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul lost 0.73 percent and finished the day with 1,423.97 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 10.46 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 12.7 billion liras.
At the closing, the banking index lost 1.13 percent value, while the holding index lost 0.54 percent. Among the sector indices, IT was the highest earner with 1.17 percent, while the most decline was recorded on mining with 2.26 percent.
Analysts noted that the risk appetite decreased due to concerns that the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic worldwide will continue to negatively affect the economic recovery.
It is stated that the long-term loan debt of the private sector from abroad, housing price index and weekly money and bank statistics in the country, foreign trade data in the Eurozone and Japan, retail sales in the USA, and weekly unemployment applications come to the fore on the data agenda tomorrow. Analysts said that the speech of Christine Lagarde, President of the
European Central Bank, will be at the focus of the markets. In Lagarde's speech, it was also stated that factors that could affect asset prices may gain importance.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.420 stands out as the support, and the levels of 1.440 and 1455 are in the resistance position for the BIST 100 index.
