BIST 100 Index Started The Day With a Rise on September 16

BIST 100 index started the day with a rise on September 16. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.33 percent and started the day with 1,428.66 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 4.69 points and 0.33 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 1,428.66 points. While the banking index gained 0.43 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.42 percent. Among the sector indices, electricity was the highest earner with 0.50 percent, while the most decline was recorded on real estate investment trust with 0.44 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul followed a sales-weighted course and closed the day at 1,423.97 points, 0.73 percent below the previous close. Analysts noted that the risk perception in global stock markets remained high, with concerns that the worldwide coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic may continue to adversely affect the economic recovery and that rising energy prices would strengthen inflationary pressures. Today, weekly monetary and bank statistics and housing price index in Turkey, European Central Bank (ECB) President Christine Lagarde's speech, as well as foreign trade balance in the Eurozone, retail sales in the USA and Philadelphia Fed manufacturing index data will be closely monitored. In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.420 and 1.390 are in the support position, and the levels of 1.440 and 1455 stand out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
