BIST 100 Index Ended the Day With a Decline
BIST 100 index ended the day with a decline. BIST 100 index depreciated by 0.42 percent in Borsa Istanbul and closed the day with 1,418.03 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which decreased by 5.93 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 12.1 billion liras.
At the close, the banking index gained 0.06 percent, while the holding index lost 0.36 percent. Among the sector indices, transportation was the highest earner with 1.51 percent, while the most decline was recorded on mining with 3.94 percent.
Analysts noted that the risk perception in global stock markets remained high, with concerns that the worldwide coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic may continue to adversely affect the economic recovery and that rising energy prices would strengthen inflationary pressures.
It was stated that the data agenda will be followed tomorrow, mainly the market participants' survey and short-term external debt stock in the country, inflation in the Euro Zone and the confidence index of the University of Michigan in the USA.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.390 stands out as the support, and the the levels of 1.440 and 1455 are in the resistance position for the
BIST 100 index.
