BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with an Increase on August 20
BIST 100 index closed the day with an increase on August 20. BIST 100 index gained 0.33 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day with 1,444.63 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 4.78 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 12.1 billion TL.
At the close, the banking index gained 0.45 percent, while the holding index gained 0.22 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest earner was mining with 2.13 percent, while the most decline was recorded on insurance, tourism and forest, paper and printing with 0.46 percent.
Analysts stated that after Dallas Fed Chairman Robert Kaplan stated that he might change his views if the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic deepens, the accelerating purchases in global stock markets also support the BIST 100 index in
Borsa Istanbul.
It was stated that next week, speeches at the Jackson Hole Symposium, growth in the USA, and the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) agenda of the global manufacturing industry and services sector will be monitored.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,470 stands out as resistance and while the level of 1,440 is in a position of support for the BIST 100 index.
