BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with Gains

BIST 100 index closed the day with gains. BIST 100 index gained 0.08 percent in Borsa Istanbul and closed the day at 1,398,00 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 1.08 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 14.3 billion liras. At the closing, the banking index depreciated by 0.56 percent, while the holding index depreciated by 0.03 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 6.35 percent, while the most decline was recorded on financial leasing and factoring with 0.98 percent. Analysts stated that despite the employment data in the USA, which was well below expectations, the positive atmosphere in the global markets continued with the agreement on the debt limit and the partial calming of commodity prices. Next week, intense data on the balance of payments, industrial production, budget balance, labor statistics and market participants survey in the country, inflation in the USA and China, industrial production in the Eurozone and Japan, and the minutes of the US Federal Reserve meeting will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the levels of 1.370 and 1.355 will be followed as support, and the level of 1.420 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
