BIST 100 Index Ended Tuesday Horizontally
BIST 100 index ended Tuesday horizontally. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.04 percent and finished the day with 1416.82 points.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 0.52 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 16.1 billion TL.
At the close, the banking index gained 0.31 percent, while the holding index lost 0.51 percent. For the sector indices, mining was the highest earner with 2.27 percent, while the most decline was recorded on tourism with 1.68%.
The International Monetary Fund (IMF), while increasing the growth forecast of the Turkish economy for 2021 from 5.8 percent to 9 percent, kept the growth expectation for 2022 at 3.3 percent.
Analysts stated that commodity prices, which have risen to record levels, continue to create inflation pressure on a global basis, and that increasing uncertainties negatively affect the stock markets.
It was stated that the housing sales statistics and foreign trade indices in the country, the meeting minutes of the US Federal Reserve, foreign trade data in China, inflation in the USA and Germany, and industrial production in the Eurozone will be monitored closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.370 stands out as the support, and the levels of 1.420 and 1.440 are in the resistance position for the
BIST 100 index.
