BIST 100 index ends Thursday with a decline. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 2.014.21 points with a 1.36 percent depreciation.
At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the
BIST 100 index, which recorded a decrease of 27.87 points compared to the previous close, was recorded as 47.8 billion TL.
At the closing, the banking index lost 0.96 percent value, while the holding index lost 1.05 percent value. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 2.76 percent, while the most decline was recorded on communication with 2.55 percent.
Geopolitical risks and inflation concerns in global markets remain at the center of the agenda.
According to the data released today, the Producer Price Index (PPI) in Germany was well above the expectations with an increase of 5 percent on a monthly basis and 24.2 percent annually, while annual inflation in the Eurozone was 5 percent.
The Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) Monetary Policy Committee left the one-week repo auction rate, which is the policy rate, unchanged at 14 percent.
Analysts stated that tomorrow the European Central Bank (
ECB) President Christine Lagarde, the Bank of Japan (BoJ) Governor Haruhiko Kuroda's statements and the BOJ meeting minutes will be in the focus of the markets.
It was stated that the consumer confidence index in the country, the consumer confidence index in the Eurozone, inflation in Japan and leading indicators index in the USA will be monitored closely.
In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 2.070 stands out as the resistance, and the levels of 1.970 and 1.950 are in the support position for the BIST 100 index.
