BIST 100 Index Started The Day With An Increase on August 24

BIST 100 index started the day with an increase on August 24. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul gained 0.40 percent and started the day with 1,465.18 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which increased by 5.84 points and 0.40 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 1,465.18 points. While the banking index gained 0.43% at the opening, the holding index gained 0.40%. Among the sector indices, the highest increase was on construction with 1.15 percent, while the only decline was recorded on informatics with 0.24 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul continued its upward trend due to the ongoing global risk appetite and closed the day at 1,459.33 points with a gain of 1.02%. Analysts stated that the data on the global economic outlook remained below expectations, increasing the expectations that the duration of supportive monetary policies will be extended, and therefore, a positive trend was observed in the stock markets before the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium, which will start in the USA on Thursday. Stating that the progress made in vaccination studies in the coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic also supports the markets, analysts stated that the Financial Services Confidence Index and housing sales data in the USA will be monitored today. In technical terms, analysts stated that the levels of 1.470 and 1.490 are in the resistance position and the level of 1.440 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
