BIST 100 Index Started the Day Horizontally On August 25

BIST 100 index started the day horizontally on August 25. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with a flat movement at 1,465.28 points.

While the banking index depreciated by 0.01 percent at the opening, the holding index lost value by 0.09 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 0.73 percent, while the most decline was recorded on communication with 0.39 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul continued its upward trend and closed the day at 1,465.89 points with an increase of 0.45 percent. Analysts stated that the expectation that the supportive monetary policy will continue for a while has increased the risk appetite on a global scale, due to the US Food and Drug Administration's (FDA) approval of Pfizer and BioNTech's coronavirus (Covid-19) vaccine for full use for those aged 16 and over along with the recently announced macroeconomic data. Adding that the question marks about the recovery in the economy made pricing difficult. Reminding that the speech of US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium on Friday remains the focus of the markets, analysts said that today the capacity utilization rate and real sector confidence index in Turkey, Ifo indices in Germany and durable goods orders in the USA will be closely monitored. In technical terms, it was stated that levels of 1.470 and 1.490 stood out as resistance and the level of 1.440 is in a position of support for the BIST 100 index.
