BIST 100 index closed the day with a decrease on August 25. BIST 100 index depreciated 0.86 percent in Borsa Istanbul and ended the day at 1,453.30 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which decreased by 12.58 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 14.5 billion liras. At the closing, the banking index depreciated by 0.45 percent, while the holding index depreciated by 1.37 percent. Among the sector indices, the highest earner was sports with 0.28 percent, while the most decline was recorded on transportation with 1.92 percent. Analysts said that before the speech of US Federal Reserve (FED) Chairman Jerome Powell at the Jackson Hole Economic Policy Symposium on Friday, the increasing uncertainties regarding monetary policy have eroded the upward movements in global stock markets. It was stated that tomorrow, weekly money and bank statistics in the country, growth and weekly unemployment applications in the USA will be closely monitored. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,440 stood out as support and the level of 1,470 is in a position of resistance for the BIST 100 index.
