BIST 100 Index Started The Week With An Increase on August 16
BIST 100 index started the week with an increase on August 16. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased by 0.25 percent and started the day at 1,451.33 points.
At the beginning of the day, the
BIST 100 index, which increased by 3.69 points and 0.25 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1,451.33 points.
While the banking index gained 0.35 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.16 percent. While the highest increase among the sector indices was on construction with 1.13 percent, the decline was recorded on securities investment trust with 0.17 percent.

Borsa Istanbul closed with an increase for the third week in a row after the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey decided not to change the policy rate in addition to the positive industrial production and balance of payments data announced last week. BIST 100 index, which increased by 0.9 percent on a weekly basis, closed at 1,447.64 points.
Analysts stated that the worse-than-expected macroeconomic data in Asia, the increasing coronavirus (Covid-19) cases and geopolitical risks originating from Afghanistan created selling pressure in global stock markets, while the positive outlook was maintained in TL assets.
It was stated that today, the budget balance in the country and the New York Fed Manufacturing Industry Index in the USA will be closely monitored.
In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,470 is in the resistance position and the level of 1,390 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
