BIST 100 Index Closed the Day with an Increase on August 16

BIST 100 index closed the day with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day with 1,455.25 points.

At the end of the day, the total transaction volume in the BIST 100 index, which increased by 7.61 points compared to the previous closing, was recorded as 13.9 billion TL. At the close, the banking index gained 2.05%, while the holding index gained 1.06%. Among the sector indices, mining was the highest earner with 2.50 percent, while the most decline was recorded on metal goods machinery with 0.99 percent. Analysts said that while the increase in the number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases in the global stock markets and the macroeconomic data giving mixed signals followed a sales-heavy course, the BIST 100 index was positively differentiated in Borsa Istanbul. It was stated that tomorrow, the housing price index in the country, unemployment in the UK, growth in the Eurozone and industrial production and retail sales in the USA will be monitored closely. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1,470 is in the resistance position and the level of 1,440 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
