BIST 100 Started Tuesday with a Decrease

BIST 100 index started Tuesday with a decrease. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,454.14 points, with a depreciation of 0.08 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which decreased by 1.11 points and 0.08 percent compared to the previous day, dropped to 1,454.14 points. While the banking index depreciated by 0.03 percent at the opening, the holding index depreciated by 0.19 percent. Among the sector indices, sports with 0.75 percent gained the most, while the most decline was recorded on trade with 0.49 percent. Yesterday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul closed the day at 1,455.25 points with an increase of 0.53 percent, especially as a result of strong purchases in banking stocks. Analysts stated that in addition to the mixed outlook of the macroeconomic data, the increasing number of coronavirus cases and the re-enacted restriction measures created selling pressure in the stock markets along with the geopolitical risks remained at the center of the agenda. Analysts, who said that investors' orientation to the bond market has increased, said that the statements of US Federal Reserve Chairman Jerome Powell will be followed at the meeting, where he will meet with teachers and students. Today, on the macroeconomic data, it was stated that the housing price index in the country, the growth in the Eurozone and industrial production and retail sales in the USA will be monitored closely. In technical terms, analysts stated that the level of 1.470 is in the position of resistance and the level of 1.440 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
