BIST 100 Index Started Wednesday With Gains

BIST 100 index started Wednesday with gains. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 2,022.53 points with an increase of 0.77 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 15.39 points and 0.77 percent compared to the previous close, reached 2,022.53 points. While the banking index gained 0.76 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 1.10 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 4.02 percent, while the most decline was recorded on sports with 0.35 percent. Continuing its upward trend yesterday, the BIST 100 index finished the day at 2.007.14 points with an increase of 0.48 percent. Analysts said that global equity markets remained positive, with expectations that the policy steps of hawkish central banks would not harm the economic recovery as much as feared. Stating that the balance sheet announcements of the companies traded in Borsa Istanbul continue and that stock-based volatility may continue, analysts stated that today, foreign trade statistics in Germany and wholesale stocks in the USA will be followed, as well as verbal guidance from the officials of the US and European central banks. It was stated that the levels of 2.030 and 2.055 are in a position of resistance and the level of 1.980 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
