BIST 100 Started Wednesday With A Rise

BIST 100 index started Wednesday with a rise. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day with an increase of 0.58 percent at 2,049.91 points.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 11.75 points and 0.58 percent compared to the previous close, rose to 2,049.91 points. While the banking index gained 0.17 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.69 percent. Among the sector indices, tourism was the highest earner with 5.78 percent, while the only decline was recorded on securities investment partnership with 0.70 percent. After starting the day with a decline, the BIST 100 index started to rise with the statements that eased the tension between Russia and Ukraine and closed the day at 2,038.16 points with a gain of 1.81 percent. Analysts said that the news flow regarding the Russia-Ukraine crisis will continue will be followed closely, and that although the tension has decreased with the statements made, the risks are still on the table and that investors should act cautiously. Stating that the minutes of the January meeting of the US Federal Reserve (Fed) are in the focus of investors today, analysts stated that the clues to be given in the minutes regarding the rate and timing of the bank's rate hike will be important for the future direction of the stock markets. Analysts also stated that today, the housing price index in the country, inflation in the UK, industrial production in the Eurozone and the USA will be monitored closely. It was stated that the level of 1.990 is in a position of support and the level of 2.090 stands out as the resistance for the BIST 100 index.
