BIST Banned Short Selling and Margin Trading on 3 Shares
BIST banned short selling and margin trading on 3 shares. It was decided to implement preventive measures within the scope of Volatility Based Measures System (VBTS) in 3 shares.
Celik Halat (#CELHA)
Within the scope of VBTS, CELHA.E shares cannot be subject to short selling and credit transactions from the transactions dated 22/11/2021 (beginning of the session) to the transactions dated 21/12/2021 (end of the session).
Ditaş Doğan (#DITAS)
DITAS.E shares will not be subject to short selling and credit transactions from the transactions dated 22/11/2021 (beginning of the session) to the transactions dated 21/12/2021 (end of the session).
Penta Teknoloji (#PENTA)
PENTA.E shares will not be subject to short selling and credit transactions from the transactions dated 22/11/2021 (beginning of the session) to the transactions dated 21/12/2021 (end of the session).
Regarding the precautionary decisions, the following statements were included in the statement of BIST:
“The measures brought under the VBTS are evaluated separately from the transaction rules of the market/platform where the share is traded, the transaction principles applied for market change or other reasons. Accordingly, VBTS measures continue to be implemented until the end of the measure period, apart from the validity period of the transaction principles put into effect with other regulations or decisions.
Pursuant to the CMB's decision dated 11/02/2021, short selling transactions are prohibited in stocks outside the BIST-50 Index until a second announcement is made in Borsa İstanbul AŞ Equity Markets.”
