BIST 100 Index Started the Week With An Increase

BIST 100 index started the week with an increase. BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul started the day at 1,751.05 points with an increase of 0.79 percent.

At the beginning of the day, the BIST 100 index, which gained 13.72 points and 0.79 percent compared to the previous close, reached 1,751.05 points. While the banking index gained 0.88 percent at the opening, the holding index gained 0.80 percent. While forest, paper and printing were the highest earners among the sector indices with 1.66 percent. On Friday, the BIST 100 index in Borsa Istanbul increased its value by 0.03 compared to the previous close, raising the closing record to 1,737.33 points. Analysts noted that the global stock markets followed a mixed course with the coronavirus restrictions implemented in Europe and the fear that the US Federal Reserve (FED) might abandon its supportive monetary policies earlier than expected, and noted that the domestic markets were positively differentiated. It was stated that today, the consumer confidence index and foreign producer price index in the country, the Chicago Fed national activity index and second-hand house sales in the USA and the consumer confidence index in the Eurozone will be monitored closely. In technical terms, it was stated that the level of 1.780 is in a position of resistance position and the the level of 1.700 stands out as the support for the BIST 100 index.
