BitMex CEO Claims that 5 More Countries Will Switch to Bitcoin
BitMex CEO claims that 5 more countries will switch to Bitcoin. Alexander Hoptner, CEO of BitMEX, pointed to 2022.
Alexander Hoptner, who became the CEO of
BitMEX after Arthur Hayes was accused by the US authorities and his case still continues, commented on the agenda in the article he wrote on the company's official website.
Hoptner, who wrote that El Salvador's Bitcoin move managed to attract the attention of the Western media, stated that this was a step to be applauded, not ridiculed, and continued as follows:
“What critics fail to realize is that developing countries like El Salvador are leading the world in adopting decentralized digital currencies and payments… It took decades before they realized how the global system worked or didn't work for them. Such countries now have to make monetary policy decisions that could have serious consequences for their citizens. They are fully aware of their powerlessness to influence. They do not choose to stay out of the monetary system (the US dollar still remains legal), but they do not hesitate to try something new. This is a development that deserves praise, not ridicule…"
Developing Countries to Jump on the Crypto Train
Hoptner said some other countries would soon follow El Salvador as an example, but did not name the country. BitMex CEO used the following statements:
"I think at least 5 more countries will accept
Bitcoin as legal currency before the end of next year. All of them are in the category of developing countries... I think these countries will jump on the crypto train in 2022..."
