Japanese ANA Holdings has ordered 15 787 Dreamliner aircraft with a list price of $ 5 billion to Boeing.
This order received by the
U.S. manufacturer was also the First Order of the year.
Boeing had trouble getting orders for some time after its 737 MAX aircraft was brought down.
Of the 15 787 Dreamliner aircraft switched to Boeing, 11 are in the form of 787-10 series and 4 are in the form of shorter 787-9s, according to a statement from the company,
Japan's largest carrier. The option was also purchased for 5 787-9s. The first aircraft will be delivered in April 2022.
This order is bad news if the engine supplier is British Rolls Royce. The company, which has so far taken over the entire supply of Ana's 787 engines, has been subject to additional scrutiny due to problems, causing hundreds of flights to be canceled. ANA will fly with General Electric engines this time.
Shares of the British motor maker, which traded in London after the news, fell 1.8 percent. New Zealand Airlines had also opted for GE instead of
Rolls Royce on orders it passed on last year.
